Dr Martijn Bijker

Martijn is originally from the Netherlands where he did his Masters and PhD in immuno-oncology. In 2007 he moved to Sydney, Australia to start his postdoc at the Garvan Institute. After close to four years as a postdoc he moved to the pharmaceutical industry and started to work as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with Abbott in 2011 followed by AbbVie, Amgen and others. In 2014 he founded his own MSL career and coaching company and built the first and only fully online MSL training platform.

Dr Johanna Havemann
Cooperating consultant, specialised in scientific writing, Science 2.0, project management and research integrity.

Johanna is a trainer and consultant in Science Communication and Management as well as Developmental Cooperation. She obtained the PhD in 2009 for her work at the Max-Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tübingen. Her working experience covers NGOs, a science startup and international institutions including the UN Environment Programme.

Since 2014, Johanna offers courses and trainings in science communication, science project management and career development with a focus on digital tools for science through her label Access 2 Perspectives. One of her initiatives aims at strengthening Research on the African continent through Open Science.

Olle Bergman is an author and communications consultant based in Eskilstuna, Sweden, specialising in public speaking, education, and freelance writing.

His specialities include the following:

• presentation and  writing techniques.
• medical, technical and scientific writing aimed at a popular audience.
